If that doesn’t happen, it will continue to be at a strong disadvantage for most professional users compared to Microsoft’s Surface lineup, despite its considerable appeal to other constituencies. I’m not saying that I’d personally buy a Surface over an iPad, but if I needed only one device to switch-hit as both a tablet and a laptop, it would be easier to choose one of Microsoft’s devices than Apple’s — and that’s entirely Apple’s cross to bear at this stage.

The motor was most likely optimized for low production cost rather then high efficiency. Also i see no evidence that this motor design had anything to do with the fate of the company, if they got bought up, many would consider it a sucess?

I’m saying, words have more than one meaning. When a second meaning is added, it isn’t wrong, and the existence of an older meaning never refutes the existence of the newer meaning.

4. People see computers as computers. This is a pretty simple observation but the corollary is quite illustrative. Computers are not TV’s, VCR’s, HiFi systems, telephone systems, or game consoles. This is not to say that computers can not perform these functions, but the level of complexity a computer and program adds to perform these fundamental tasks relegates this sort of application to niche markets (with the possible exception of games).
