Not everyone trusts banks. What more needs to be said on this one except that trust is a key issue in our society and has been for many thousands of years. Trust, especially between parties in business transactions, forms the basis of modern human civilization. Digital trust issues will continue to be a significant area of development for the foreseeable future. Many communities will form “trust collectives”. This will form into “trust networks”. Some of these communities will be banks. The opportunity is wide open. Lawyers will also have a large role to play since they currently fulfill many trust roles in society today. The key will remain to be choice, not just for trust, but also for the ultra important issue of privacy.
