Sorry, I don’t buy any of this one bit – there is still room for a huge amount of innovation on x86 architecture PCs (with processor speeds that will be at about 50 GHz in 2008, according to Moore’s law) that simply will not be possible to cram into the microscopic form factor of the latest cell phones – it’s going to be a hell of a lot easier for everyone to just sync the thing automatically over a wireless network with ‘Windows MAX 2008’ so that you will be able to sit down and get some *real* work done.

But when it comes to hiring devs, where are the CEOs and tech execs in the discussion? Does JavaScript dominion get you in the door immediately? Are certain languages passé? We spoke to 10 tech executives at Philly companies and startups and asked them to describe their ideal candidate’s skill set. Here’s what they said:

Clear Lake attorney Matt Berry was named the August recipient of the Spotlight on Service award from the Iowa State Bar Association. The award recognizes "work in the community." Berry, married to Jean and practicing law since 1981, has served as an ordained deacon to Catholic parishes in Mason City and Manly. She also couldn’t help reliving the night’s first honor. “Oh my God, that was just such a great way to start, and he’s such a sweet man,” she said of Henry Winkler, who received his first nod 42 years ago for Happy Days. “I was on a little movie of the week with him, and he was just so happy to be working and doing what he loved to do, and I said, ‘Please, instill that upon every other young actor that you come across.’”
