Now that the holiday season is over many people forget about the great need the homeless face everyday here in Carson City. With some of the coldest weather still ahead of us lets do what we can to help those suffering from homelessness. I’m collecting items for the Do Drop In Center and the homeless of Carson City. Cerro Gordo County Youth Coordinator Kelsey Spotts received the Iowa 4-H Achievement in Service award Oct. 30 in Ames. The award recognizes new staff members who have made a difference in a short time, according to a release. Spotts has increased the number of programs, educational contact hours and total youth reached.
